Concerning Other MattersA. CreationWe believe that
the creation account as described in the first two chapters of the book of
B'resheet (Genesis) is to be accepted as factual, historical, and
perspicuous; that all things in the universe were spoken into existence
from nothing by B. Human SexualityWe believe that C. The Sanctity of LifeWe believe that human life begins at the moment of conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion therefore constitutes the unjustifiable, inexcusable taking of unborn human life. Simply stated, abortion is the murder of an infant. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well being of the mother are acceptable. While we believe that all human life is
sacred, given by [1] We do not
pretend to know, nor do we believe that it is important for us to know,
whether the period of time included in the “six days of creation” was
equal to six periods of 24 hours each, according to man’s current
calculation of time. Since the Scripture specifically refers to “the
evening and morning” of each day, we assume that literal days are
intended. Current understanding of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity holds
that time as we know it is relative to the position and circumstances of
the observer. Page revised Saturday, 27 November 2010 07:53 PM |
