Rishon [1st]
9:1It happened on the eighth day, that Moshe called Aharon and his sons, and the
elders of Yisra'el; 9:2and he said to Aharon, "Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for
a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.
9:3You shall speak to
the children of Yisra'el, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a
lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering;
9:4and an ox and a ram
for shalom offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meal offering mixed with oil: for
today the LORD appears to you.'"
9:5They brought what Moshe commanded before the Tent of Meeting: and all the
congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. 9:6Moshe said, "This is the thing which
the LORD commanded that you should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear to you."
9:7Moshe said to Aharon, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and
your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the
offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as the LORD commanded."
9:8So Aharon drew near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which
was for himself. 9:9The sons of Aharon presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the
blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the
altar: 9:10but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver of the sin offering, he
burned upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moshe. 9:11The flesh and the skin he burned
with fire outside the camp. 9:12He killed the burnt offering; and Aharon's sons delivered the blood to him, and he
sprinkled it on the altar round about. 9:13They delivered the burnt offering
to him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burned them upon the altar.
9:14He
washed the innards and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.
9:15He
presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the
people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, like the first.
9:16He presented the
burnt offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.

Sheni [2nd]
9:17He presented the meal offering, and filled his hand from there, and burned it upon
the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.
9:18He also killed the
ox and the ram, the sacrifice of shalom offerings, which was for the people: and Aharon's
sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled on the altar round about,
9:19and
the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covers the innards, and the
kidneys, and the cover of the liver:
9:20and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he
burned the fat on the altar:
9:21and the breasts and the right thigh Aharon waved for a
wave offering before the LORD, as Moshe commanded. 9:22Aharon lifted up his hands toward
the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt
offering, and the shalom offerings.
9:23Moshe and Aharon went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the
people: and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.

Shlishi [3rd]
9:24There came forth fire from before the LORD, and consumed the burnt offering and the
fat upon the altar: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
10:1Nadav and Avihu, the sons of Aharon, each took his censer, and put fire in it, and
laid incense on it, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he had not commanded
them. 10:2And fire came forth from before the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before
the LORD.
10:3Then Moshe said to Aharon, "This is what the LORD spoke of, saying,
"'I will show myself holy to those who come near me,
And before all the people I will be glorified.'"
Aharon held his shalom.
10:4Moshe called
Misha'el and Eltzafan, the sons of `Uzzi'el the uncle of Aharon, and said to them, "Draw
near, carry your brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp."
10:5So
they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moshe had said.
10:6Moshe said to Aharon, and to El`azar and to Itamar, his sons, "Don't let the hair
of your heads go loose, neither tear your clothes; that you don't die, and that he not be
angry with all the congregation: but let your brothers, the whole house of Yisra'el, bewail
the burning which the LORD has kindled. 10:7You shall not go out from the door
of the Tent of Meeting, lest you die; for the anointing oil of the LORD is on you." They did
according to the word of Moshe.
10:8The LORD spoke to Aharon, saying, 10:9"Drink no wine nor strong drink,
you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, that you don't die: it
shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:
10:10and that you are
to make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the
clean; 10:11and that you are to teach the children of Yisra'el all the statutes which the LORD
has spoken to them by Moshe."

R'vi'i [4th]
10:12Moshe spoke to Aharon, and to El`azar and to Itamar, his sons who were left, "Take
the meal offering that remains of the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and eat it without
yeast beside the altar; for it is most holy; 10:13and you shall eat it in a holy
place, because it is your portion, and your sons' portion, of the offerings of the LORD made
by fire: for so I am commanded.
10:14The waved breast and the heaved thigh you shall
eat in a clean place, you, and your sons, and your daughters with you: for they are given as
your portion, and your sons' portion, out of the sacrifices of the shalom offerings of the
children of Yisra'el. 10:15The heaved thigh and the waved breast they shall bring with the offerings made by
fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave offering before the LORD: and it shall be yours, and
your sons' with you, as a portion forever; as the LORD has commanded."

Chamishi [5th]
10:16Moshe diligently inquired about the goat of the sin offering, and, behold, it was
burned: and he was angry with El`azar and with Itamar, the sons of Aharon who were left,
saying, 10:17"Why haven't you eaten the sin offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is
most holy, and he has given it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make
atonement for them before the LORD?
10:18Behold, its blood was not brought into the inner
part of the sanctuary: you certainly should have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded."
10:19Aharon spoke to Moshe, "Behold, this day they have offered their sin offering and
their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things as these have happened to me: and if I
had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been pleasing in the sight of the LORD?"
10:20When Moshe heard that, it was pleasing in his sight.

Shishi [6th]
11:1The LORD spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying to them,
11:2"Speak to the
children of Yisra'el, saying, 'These are the living things which you may eat among all the
animals that are on the earth.
11:3Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews
the cud among the animals, that you may eat.
11:4"'Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who
part the hoof: the camel, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is
unclean to you. 11:5The coney, because he chews the cud but doesn't have a parted hoof, he is unclean
to you. 11:6The hare, because she chews the cud but doesn't part the hoof, she is unclean to
you. 11:7The pig, because he has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn't chew the
cud, he is unclean to you. 11:8Of their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch; they are
unclean to you.
11:9These you may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in
the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.
11:10All that don't
have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of
all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,
11:11and
you detest them. You shall not eat of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses.
11:12Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.
11:13"'These you shall detest among the birds; they shall not be eaten, they are an
abomination: the nesher [eagle], and the rakham [vulture], and the black rakham,
11:14and
the red kite, any kind of black kite, 11:15any kind of raven,
11:16the
tanshemet [horned owl], the screech owl, and the gull, any kind of hawk,
11:17the
kos [little owl], the shalakh [cormorant], the yanshuf [great owl],
11:18the white owl, the
desert owl, the osprey, 11:19the khasidah [stork], any kind of heron, the dukifat [hoopoe], and the atalef
[bat].
11:20"'All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.
11:21Yet
you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have legs above
their feet, with which to hop on the earth. 11:22Even of these you may eat: any
kind of arbeh [locust], any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of
grasshopper. 11:23But all winged creeping things which have four feet, are an abomination to you.
11:24"'By these you will become unclean: whoever touches the carcass of them shall be
unclean until the evening.
11:25Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash
his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
11:26"'Every animal which parts the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor chews the cud,
is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.
11:27Whatever goes on
its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches
their carcass shall be unclean until the evening. 11:28He who carries their carcass shall
wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
11:29"'These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on
the earth: the kholed [weasel], the rat, any kind of tzav [great lizard],
11:30the
anakah [gecko], and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the tanshemet.
11:31These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them
when they are dead, shall be unclean until the evening.
11:32On whatever any of
them falls when they are dead, it shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or
clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be
put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it will be clean.

Shvi'i [7th]
11:33Every earthen vessel, into which any of them falls, all that is in it shall be
unclean, and you shall break it.
11:34All food which may be eaten, that on which water
comes, shall be unclean; and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be
unclean. 11:35Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or
range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces: they are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
11:36Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is a gathered shall be clean: but
that which touches their carcass shall be unclean. 11:37If part of their carcass falls on
any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean. 11:38But if water is put on the seed,
and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
11:39"'If any animal, of which you may eat, dies; he who touches its carcass shall be
unclean until the evening.
11:40He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and
be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be
unclean until the evening.
11:41"'Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be
eaten. 11:42Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many
feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are
an abomination. 11:43You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps,
neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.
11:44For I am the LORD your G-d. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be
holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing
that moves on the earth.

Maftir [Concluding]
11:45For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your G-d.
You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,
11:47to
make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may

Shemu'el Bet
(2 Samuel) 6:1-7:17
6:1David again gathered together all the chosen men of Yisra'el, thirty thousand.
6:2David arose, and went with all the people who were with him, from Ba`ale-Yeudah, to
bring up from there the ark of G-d, which is called by the Name, even the name
of the LORD of Hosts who sits above the Keruvim.
6:3They set the ark of
G-d on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Avinadav that was in the
hill: and Uzzah and Achyo, the sons of Avinadav, drove the new cart.
6:4They brought it out
of the house of Avinadav, which was in the hill, with the ark of G-d: and Achyo
went before the ark. 6:5David and all the house of Yisra'el played before the LORD with all manner of
instruments made of fir-wood, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels,
and with castanets, and with cymbals.
6:6When they came to the threshing floor of Nakhon,
Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of G-d, and took hold of it; for the
oxen stumbled. 6:7The anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and G-d struck him
there for his error; and there he died by the ark of G-d.
6:8David
was displeased, because the LORD had broken forth on Uzzah; and he called that place
Peretz-Uzzah, to this day. 6:9David was afraid of the LORD that day; and he said, How shall the ark of the LORD
come to me? 6:10So David would not remove the ark of the LORD to him into the city of David; but
David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
6:11The ark of the LORD
remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom,
and all his house. 6:12It was told king David, saying, the LORD has blessed the house of Obed-edom, and
all that pertains to him, because of the ark of G-d. David went and brought up
the ark of G-d from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.
6:13It was so, that, when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he
sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf. 6:14David danced before the LORD with
all his might; and David was girded with a linen efod.
6:15So David and all
the house of Yisra'el brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of
the shofar. 6:16It was so, as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, that Mikhal the
daughter of Sha'ul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before
the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. 6:17They brought in the ark of the
LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it; and
David offered burnt offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.
6:18When David had made
an end of offering the burnt offering and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the
name of the LORD of Hosts. 6:19He dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Yisra'el, both to
men and women, to everyone a cake of bread, and a portion of flesh, and a cake of
raisins. So all the people departed everyone to his house.
6:20Then David returned
to bless his household. Mikhal the daughter of Sha'ul came out to meet David, and said, How
glorious was the king of Yisra'el today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of the
handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!
6:21David
said to Mikhal, It was before the LORD, who chose me above your father, and above all
his house, to appoint me prince over the people of the LORD, over Yisra'el: therefore will I
play before the LORD. 6:22I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in my own sight: but of the
handmaids of whom you have spoken, they shall honor me.
6:23Mikhal the daughter
of Sha'ul had no child to the day of her death.
7:1It happened, when the king lived in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from
all his enemies round about, 7:2that the king said to Natan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but
the ark of G-d dwells within curtains. 7:3Natan said to the king, Go, do all
that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you. 7:4It happened the same night, that the
word of the LORD came to Natan, saying, 7:5Go and tell my servant David, Thus
says the LORD, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?
7:6for I have not lived
in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Yisra'el out of Egypt, even to
this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tent. 7:7In all places in which I have walked
with all the children of Yisra'el, spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Yisra'el, whom I
commanded to be shepherd of my people Yisra'el, saying, Why have you not built me a house of
cedar? 7:8Now therefore thus shall you tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, I
took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my
people, over Yisra'el; 7:9and I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from
before you; and I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the
earth. 7:10I will appoint a place for my people Yisra'el, and will plant them, that they may
dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness
afflict them any more, as at the first, 7:11and as from the day that I
commanded judges to be over my people Yisra'el; and I will cause you to rest from all your
enemies. Moreover the LORD tells you that the LORD will make you a house.
7:12When
your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed
after you, who shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
7:13He
shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
7:14I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten
him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men;
7:15but
my loving kindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Sha'ul, whom I put away
before you. 7:16Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure for ever before you: your throne
shall be established forever.
7:17According to all these words, and according to all this
vision, so did Natan speak to David.

Messianic Jews (Hebrews) 7:1-19
7:1For this Malki-Tzedek, king of Shalem, kohen [priest] of El `Elyon, who met Avraham
returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
7:2to whom also Avraham
divided a tenth part of all (being first, by interpretation, king of righteousness, and then
also king of Shalem, which is king of shalom; 7:3without father, without mother,
without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son
of G-d), remains a kohen continually. 7:4Now consider how great this man was,
to whom even Avraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the best spoils.
7:5They
indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the kohen's office have a mitzvah [commandment] to
take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brothers, though these
have come out of the loins of Avraham, 7:6but he whose genealogy is not
counted from them has taken tithes of Avraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.
7:7But without any dispute the less is blessed by the better.
7:8Here people who die
receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives.
7:9So to
say, through Avraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes,
7:10for
he was yet in the loins of his father when Malki-Tzedek met him.
7:11Now if there was
perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people have received the law),
what further need was there for another kohen to arise after the order of Malki-Tzedek, and
not be called after the order of Aharon? 7:12For the priesthood being changed,
there is of necessity a change made also in the law. 7:13For he of whom these things are
said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
7:14For
it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Yehudah, about which tribe Moshe spoke nothing
concerning priesthood. 7:15This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Malki-Tzedek there
arises another kohen, 7:16who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly mitzvah, but after the power of
an endless life: 7:17for it is testified,
"You are a kohen forever,
According to the order of Malki-Tzedek."
7:18For there is an annulling of a foregoing mitzvah because of its weakness and
uselessness 7:19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope,
through which we draw near to G-d.
Additional B'rit Chadasha reading:
Marcos 7:1-23
7:1Then the Perushim, and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come
from Yerushalayim. 7:2Now when they saw some of his talmidim [students, disciples] eating bread with
defiled, that is, unwashed, hands, they found fault.
7:3(For the Perushim, and all the Yehudim, don't eat
unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
7:4They don't eat when
they come from the marketplace, unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other
things, which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and
couches.) 7:5The
Perushim and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your talmidim walk according to the tradition
of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?"
7:6He answered them,
"Well did Yesha'yahu prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
'This people honors me with their lips,
But their heart is far from me.
7:7But in vain do they worship me,
Teaching as doctrines the mitzvot of men.'
7:8"For
you set aside the mitzvah of G-d, and hold tightly to the tradition of men--the
washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things."
7:9He said to them, "Full well do you
reject the mitzvah of G-d, that you may keep your tradition.
7:10For Moshe said,
'Honor your father and your mother;' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him
be put to death.' 7:11But you say, 'If a man tells his father or his mother, "Whatever profit you might
have received from me is Corban, that is to say, given to G-d;"'
7:12then you no longer
allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
7:13making void the word of G-d
by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this."
7:14He
called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand.
7:15There is
nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which
proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
7:16If anyone has ears to hear, let him
hear!"
7:17When
he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his talmidim asked him about the
parable. 7:18He
said to them, "Are you thus without understanding also? Don't you perceive that whatever
goes into the man from outside can't defile him,
7:19because it doesn't go into his heart, but into his
stomach, then into the latrine, thus making all foods clean?"
7:20He said, "That which proceeds out
of the man, that defiles the man. 7:21For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries,
sexual sins, murders, thefts, 7:22covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and
foolishness. 7:23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."
Acts 5:1-11; 10:1-35
5:1But a certain man named Chananyah, with Shappirah, his wife, sold a possession,
5:2and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a
certain part, and laid it at the emissaries' feet. 5:3But Kefa said, "Chananyah, why has
Hasatan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of
the land? 5:4While you kept it, didn't it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn't it in your
power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven't lied to men,
but to G-d."
5:5Chananyah,
hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.
5:6The young men
arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.
5:7About three hours later, his wife,
not knowing what had happened, came in. 5:8Kefa answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much."
She said, "Yes, for so much."
5:9But
Kefa asked her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord?
Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry
you out."
5:10She
fell down immediately at his feet, and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and
they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
5:11Great fear came on the whole assembly, and on all
who heard these things.
10:1Now
there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the
Italian Regiment, 10:2a devout man, and one who feared G-d with all his house, who gave
gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to G-d.
10:3At about the ninth
hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of G-d coming to him, and
saying to him, "Cornelius!"
10:4He,
fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?"
He said to him, "Your prayers and your gifts to the needy
have gone up for a memorial before G-d.
10:5Now send men to Yafo, and get Shim`on, who is
surnamed Kefa. 10:6He lodges with one Shim`on, a tanner, whose house is by the seaside."
10:7When
the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and
a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.
10:8Having explained everything to
them, he sent them to Yafo. 10:9Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Kefa
went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.
10:10He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they
were preparing, he fell into a trance. 10:11He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet
let down by four corners on the earth, 10:12in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals,
reptiles, and birds of the sky. 10:13A voice came to him, "Rise, Kefa, kill and eat!"
10:14But Kefa said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or
unclean."
10:15A voice came to him again the second time, "What G-d has cleansed, you
must not call unclean." 10:16This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.
10:17Now while
Kefa was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the
men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Shim`on's house, stood before the
gate, 10:18and
called and asked whether Shim`on, who was surnamed Kefa, was lodging there.
10:19While Kefa was
pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men seek you.
10:20But arise, get
down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."
10:21Kefa went down to the men, and said, "Behold, I am he whom you seek. Why have you
come?"
10:22They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears G-d,
and well spoken of by all the nation of the Yehudim, was directed by a holy angel to invite
you to his house, and to listen to what you say."
10:23So he called them in and lodged them. On the next
day Kefa arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Yafo accompanied him.
10:24On the
next day they entered into Caesarea. Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together
his relatives and his near friends. 10:25When it happened that Kefa entered, Cornelius met him, fell down at his feet, and
worshiped him. 10:26But Kefa raised him up, saying, "Stand up! I myself am also a man."
10:27As he talked with
him, he went in and found many gathered together.
10:28He said to them, "You yourselves know how it is an
unlawful thing for a man who is a Yehudi to join himself or come to one of another nation,
but G-d has shown me that I shouldn't call any man unholy or unclean.
10:29Therefore also I
came without complaint when I was sent for. I ask therefore, why did you send for me?"
10:30Cornelius said, "Four days ago, I was fasting until this hour, and at the ninth
hour, I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
10:31and said,
'Cornelius, your prayer is heard, and your gifts to the needy are remembered in the sight of
G-d. 10:32Send therefore to Yafo, and summon Shim`on, who is surnamed Kefa. He lodges in the
house of Shim`on a tanner, by the seaside. When he comes, he will speak to you.'
10:33Therefore I sent
to you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the
sight of G-d to hear all things that have been commanded you by G-d."
10:34Kefa opened his mouth and said, "Truly I perceive that G-d doesn't
show favoritism; 10:35but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
6:14Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness
and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?
6:15What agreement has
Messiah with Beliya`al? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?
6:16What
agreement has a temple of G-d with idols? For you are a temple of the living
G-d. Even as G-d said, "I will dwell in them, and walk in them;
and I will be their G-d, and they will be my people."
6:17Therefore,
"'Come out from among them,
And be separate,' says the Lord,
'Touch no unclean thing.
I will receive you.
6:18I will be to you a Father.
You will be to me sons and daughters,'
says the Lord Almighty."
7:1Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of G-d.
Galatians 2:11-16
2:11But when Kefa came to Antioch, I resisted him to the face, because he stood
condemned. 2:12For before some people came from Ya`akov, he ate with the Goyim. But when they
came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
2:13And
the rest of the Yehudim joined him in his hypocrisy; so that even Bar-Nabba was carried away
with their hypocrisy. 2:14But when I saw that they didn't walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good
News, I said to Kefa before them all, "If you, being a Yehudi, live as the Goyim do, and not
as the Yehudim do, why do you compel the Goyim to live as the Yehudim do?
2:15"We, being Yehudim by nature, and not Goy sinners,
2:16yet knowing that a
man is not justified by the works of the law but through the faith of Yeshua the Messiah,
even we believed in Messiah Yeshua, that we might be justified by faith in Messiah, and not
by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.
Kefa Alef (1 Peter) 1:13-16
1:13Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be sober and set your hope fully on the
grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah—1:14as
children of obedience, not conforming yourselves according to your former lusts as in your
ignorance, 1:15but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your
behavior; 1:16because it is written, "You shall be holy; for I am holy."
