Rishon [1st]
12:1The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,
12:2"Speak
to the children of Yisra'el, saying, 'If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she
shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her monthly period she shall be unclean.
12:3In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
12:4She
shall continue in the blood of purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any holy
thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed.
12:5But
if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her period; and she
shall continue in the blood of purification sixty-six days.
12:6"'When the days of her purification are completed, for a son, or for a daughter,
she shall bring to the kohen at the door of the Tent of
Meeting, a year old lamb for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a
sin offering: 12:7and he shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; and she shall be
cleansed from the fountain of her blood.
"'This is the law for her who bears, whether a male or a
female. 12:8If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves, or two young
pigeons; the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the
kohen shall make atonement for her, and she shall be
clean.'"
13:1The LORD spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying,
13:2"When a man shall
have a rising in his body's skin, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of
his body the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aharon the
kohen, or to one of his sons the
kohanim: 13:3and the
kohen shall examine the plague in the skin of the body: and
if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than
the body's skin, it is the plague of leprosy; and the kohen
shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean. 13:4If the bright spot is white in the
skin of his body, and the appearance of it isn't deeper than the skin, and the hair of it
hasn't turned white, then the kohen shall isolate the
infected person for seven days.
13:5The kohen shall examine
him on the seventh day, and, behold, if in his eyes the plague is arrested, and the plague
hasn't spread in the skin, then the kohen shall isolate him
for seven more days.

Sheni [2nd]
13:6The kohen shall examine him again on the seventh
day; and, behold, if the plague has faded, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then
the kohen shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab. He shall
wash his clothes, and be clean.
13:7But if the scab spreads on the skin, after he has shown
himself to the kohen for his cleansing, he shall show
himself to the kohen again.
13:8The
kohen shall examine him; and, behold, if the scab has
spread on the skin, then the kohen shall pronounce him
unclean. It is leprosy.
13:9"When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he shall be brought to the
kohen; 13:10and the
kohen shall examine him. Behold, if there is a white rising
in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there is raw flesh in the rising,
13:11it
is a chronic leprosy in the skin of his body, and the kohen
shall pronounce him unclean. He shall not isolate him, for he is unclean.
13:12"If the leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and the leprosy covers all the skin
of the infected person from his head even to his feet, as far as it appears to the
kohen; 13:13then the
kohen shall examine him; and, behold, if the leprosy has
covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean of the plague. It has all turned white:
he is clean. 13:14But whenever raw flesh appears in him, he shall be unclean.
13:15The
kohen shall examine the raw flesh, and pronounce him
unclean: the raw flesh is unclean. It is leprosy. 13:16Or if the raw flesh turns again,
and is changed to white, then he shall come to the kohen;
13:17and the kohen shall examine him; and, behold, if
the plague has turned white, then the kohen shall
pronounce him clean of the plague. He is clean.

Shlishi [3rd]
13:18"When the body has a boil on its skin, and it has healed,
13:19and in the place
of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it shall be shown
to the kohen; 13:20and the
kohen shall examine it; and, behold, if the appearance of
it is lower than the skin, and the hair of it has turned white, then the
kohen shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of
leprosy. It has broken out in the boil. 13:21But if the
kohen examines it, and, behold, there are no white hairs
in it, and it isn't deeper than the skin, but is dim, then the
kohen shall isolate him seven days. 13:22If it spreads in the skin, then
the kohen shall pronounce him unclean. It is a plague.
13:23But if the bright spot stays in its place, and hasn't spread, it is the scar from
the boil; and the kohen shall pronounce him clean.

R'vi'i [4th]
13:24"Or when the body has a burn from fire on its skin, and the raw flesh of the burn
becomes a bright spot, reddish-white, or white, 13:25then the
kohen shall examine it; and, behold, if the hair in the
bright spot has turned white, and the appearance of it is deeper than the skin; it is
leprosy. It has broken out in the burning, and the kohen
shall pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.
13:26But if the
kohen examines it, and, behold, there is no white hair in
the bright spot, and it isn't lower than the skin, but is faded; then the
kohen shall isolate him seven days.
13:27The
kohen shall examine him on the seventh day. If it has
spread in the skin, then the kohen shall pronounce him
unclean. It is the plague of leprosy. 13:28If the bright spot stays in its
place, and hasn't spread in the skin, but is faded, it is the swelling from the burn, and
the kohen shall pronounce him clean; for it is the scar
from the burn.

Chamishi [5th]
13:29"When a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard,
13:30then
the kohen shall examine the plague; and, behold, if the
appearance of it is deeper than the skin, and the hair in it is yellow and thin, then the
kohen shall pronounce him unclean: it is an itch, it is
leprosy of the head or of the beard. 13:31If the
kohen examines the plague of itching, and, behold, its
appearance isn't deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the
kohen shall isolate him the person infected with itching
seven days. 13:32On the seventh day the kohen shall examine the
plague; and, behold, if the itch hasn't spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the
appearance of the itch isn't deeper than the skin, 13:33then he shall be shaved, but he
shall not shave the itch; and the kohen shall shut him up
who has the itch seven more days.
13:34On the seventh day, the
kohen shall examine the itch; and, behold, if the itch
hasn't spread in the skin, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, then the
kohen shall pronounce him clean. He shall wash his
clothes, and be clean. 13:35But if the itch spreads in the skin after his cleansing,
13:36then the
kohen shall examine him; and, behold, if the itch has
spread in the skin, the kohen shall not look for the
yellow hair; he is unclean.
13:37But if in his eyes the itch is arrested, and black hair
has grown in it; the itch is healed, he is clean. The kohen
shall pronounce him clean.

Shishi [6th]
13:38"When a man or a woman has bright spots in the skin of the body, even white bright
spots; 13:39then the kohen shall examine them; and, behold,
if the bright spots on the skin of their body are a dull white, it is a harmless rash, it
has broken out in the skin; he is clean.
13:40"If a man's hair has fallen from his head, he is bald. He is clean.
13:41If
his hair has fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald. He is clean.
13:42But if there is in the bald head, or the bald forehead, a reddish-white plague; it
is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead.
13:43Then the
kohen shall examine him; and, behold, if the rising of the
plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, like the appearance of
leprosy in the skin of the flesh,
13:44he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The
kohen shall surely pronounce him unclean. His plague is on
his head.
13:45"The leper in whom the plague is shall wear torn clothes, and the hair of his head
shall hang loose. He shall cover his upper lip, and shall cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!'
13:46All
the days in which the plague is in him he shall be unclean. He is unclean. He shall dwell
alone. Outside of the camp shall be his dwelling.
13:47"The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it is a woolen garment,
or a linen garment; 13:48whether it is in warp, or woof; of linen, or of wool; whether in a skin, or in
anything made of skin; 13:49if the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the
warp, or in the woof, or in anything made of skin; it is the plague of leprosy, and shall be
shown to the kohen.
13:50The
kohen shall examine the plague, and isolate the plague
seven days. 13:51He shall examine the plague on the seventh day. If the plague has spread in the
garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever use the skin is used
for, the plague is a destructive mildew. It is unclean.
13:52He shall burn the
garment, whether the warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or anything of skin, in which
the plague is: for it is a destructive mildew. It shall be burned in the fire.
13:53"If the kohen examines it, and, behold, the
plague hasn't spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of
skin; 13:54then the kohen shall command that they wash the
thing in which the plague is, and he shall isolate it seven more days.
[ Top ]

Shvi'i [7th]
13:55Then the kohen shall examine it, after the plague
is washed; and, behold, if the plague hasn't changed its color, and the plague hasn't
spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire. It is a mildewed spot, whether the
bareness is inside or outside.
13:56If the kohen looks,
and, behold, the plague has faded after it is washed, then he shall tear it out of the
garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof:

Maftir [Concluding]
13:57and if it appears again in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in
anything of skin, it is spreading. You shall burn with fire that in which the plague is.
13:58The garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatever thing of skin it is, which
you shall wash, if the plague has departed from them, then it shall be washed the second
time, and it will be clean."
13:59This is the law of the plague of mildew in a garment of wool or linen, either in
the warp, or the woof, or in anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it
unclean.

Melakhim Bet (2 Kings)
4:42-5:19a
4:42There came a man from Ba`al-Shalishah, and brought the man of G-d
bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. He
said, Give to the people, that they may eat. 4:43His servant said, What, should I
set this before a hundred men? But he said, Give the people, that they may eat; for thus
says the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave of it.
4:44So he set it before
them, and they ate, and left of it, according to the word of the LORD.
5:1Now Na`aman, captain of the host of the king of Aram, was a great man with his
master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given victory to Aram: he was also a
mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.
5:2The Aram had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of Eretz-Yisra'el
a little maiden; and she waited on Na`aman's wife. 5:3She said to her mistress, Would that
my lord were with the prophet who is in Shomron! then would he recover him of his leprosy.
5:4One went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maiden who is of
Eretz-Yisra'el. 5:5The king of Aram said, Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Yisra'el. He
departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold,
and ten changes of clothing.
5:6He brought the letter to the king of Yisra'el, saying, Now when this letter is come
to you, behold, I have sent Na`aman my servant to you, that you may recover him of his
leprosy. 5:7It happened, when the king of Yisra'el had read the letter, that he tore his
clothes, and said, Am I G-d, to kill and to make alive, that this man does send
to me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeks a
quarrel against me.
5:8It was so, when Elisha the man of G-d heard that the king of Yisra'el
had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Why have you torn your clothes? let
him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Yisra'el.
5:9So
Na`aman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of
Elisha. 5:10Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash in the Yarden seven times, and
your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.
5:11But Na`aman was angry, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely
come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his G-d, and wave
his hand over the place, and recover the leper. 5:12Aren't Amanah and Parpar, the
rivers of Dammesek, better than all the waters of Yisra'el? may I not wash in them, and be
clean? So he turned and went away in a rage. 5:13His servants came near, and spoke
to him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid you do some great thing, wouldn't you
have done it? how much rather then, when he says to you, Wash, and be clean?
5:14Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in the Yarden, according
to the saying of the man of G-d; and his flesh came again like the flesh of a
little child, and he was clean.
5:15He returned to the man of G-d, he and all
his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, See now, I know that there is no
G-d in all the earth, but in Yisra'el: now therefore, please take a present
from your servant. 5:16But he said, As the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none. He urged
him to take it; but he refused.
5:17Na`aman said, If not, yet, please let there be given to
your servant two mules' burden of earth; for your servant will henceforth offer neither
burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD.
5:18In this thing the
LORD pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and
he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, when I bow myself in the house
of Rimmon, the LORD pardon your servant in this thing.
5:19He said to him, Go
in shalom.

Loukas (Luke) 7:18-35
7:18The talmidim of Yochanan told him about all these things.
7:19Yochanan,
calling to himself two of his talmidim, sent them to Yeshua, saying, "Are
you the one who is coming, or should we look for another?"
7:20When the men had
come to him, they said, "Yochanan the immerser has sent us to you, saying, 'Are you he who
comes, or should we look for another?'"
7:21In that hour he cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits; and to many
who were blind he gave sight.
7:22Yeshua answered them, "Go and tell Yochanan the things which you have seen and heard: that the
blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead
are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
7:23Blessed
is he who is not offended by me."
7:24When Yochanan's messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about
Yochanan, "What did you go out into the wilderness to
see? A reed shaken by the wind?
7:25But what did you go out to see? A man
clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed, and live delicately, are
in kings' courts. 7:26But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and
much more than a prophet. 7:27This is he of whom it is written,
'Behold, I send my messenger before your face,
Who will prepare your way before you.'
7:28"For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a
greater prophet than Yochanan the immerser, yet he who is least in the Kingdom of G-d
is greater than he."
7:29When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared G-d
to be just, having been immersed with Yochanan's immersion.
7:30But the Perushim
and the lawyers rejected the counsel of G-d, not being immersed by him
themselves.
7:31But the Lord said, "To what then will I liken
the people of this generation? What are they like? 7:32They are like
children who sit in the marketplace, and call one to another, saying, 'We piped to you, and
you didn't dance. We mourned, and you didn't weep.' 7:33For Yochanan the
immerser came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.'
7:34The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Behold,
a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'
7:35Wisdom is justified by all her children."
