The Walk Torah! Series
by Messianic Rabbi Jeff Greenberg,
Ph.D.
As you “walk Torah,” your spiritual journey
takes you from Eden, through the flood, into the Promised Land, and down to
Egypt and out again into the Wilderness Wanderings and the construction of
the Tabernacle. But the journey is not just about days gone by. It continues
today for all those who choose to walk with G-d. This commentary series
follows the weekly Torah (Pentateuch) readings from the synagogue,
along with the related Haftarah (Prophets and Writings) and Brit Hadashah
(“New Testament”) readings.
Dr. Jeff Feinberg is leader of
Congregation Etz
Chaim in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, where he encourages Jews and Gentiles,
believers in Yeshua and those with willing hearts, to search for G-d in His
Word. Torah is his song, nurturing others in the Word of G-d his passion.
Jeff has taught at all levels and chaired education nationally for the Union
of Messianic Jewish Congregations. He has studied at the university of
California at Berkeley, University of Chicago, Stanford University, Trinity
International university, and the UMJC Yeshiva. (Bio information from the
UMJC website.)
We were privileged to sit under Rav Jeff's
teaching at the Messiah 2001 conference. He is a delightful story-teller and
gifted Torah teacher. |

Walk Exodus!
A Messianic Jewish Devotional Commentary
for Readers of the Torah, Haftarah, and B'rit Chadasha
by
Jeffrey Enoch Feinberg, PH.D.

Dr. Jeffery
Feinberg has done it again. Following his highly successful Walk Genesis! he
has continued his "Walk" series with this excellent devotional commentary.
When we "Walk Exodus" 400 years beyond
Genesis, our family of seventy names is forged into a priestly nation.
Construction takes time, as our journey winds through bondage, plagues, a
parted sea, and wilderness. Every Passover, we recall this exodus story, for
we also were redeemed by the mighty hand of G-d. At Sinai, G-d speaks! He
covenants to dwell among us. Even today, He transforms the lives of those who
join the journey. This commentary follows the weekly Torah (Pentateuch)
readings, with parallel passages from the Haftarah (Prophets) and B'rit
Chadashah (New Covenant); includes a beginner's look at the Hebrew language
in a very easy-to-undertand manner; exposes readers to the Jewish roots of
the Faith, emphasizes traditional Jewish and Messianic interpretation that
focuses on personal application, helps you relate the ancient Scriptures to
your daily walk with G-d.
Using the
weekly synagogue readings, Dr. Feinberg has put together some very valuable
material. Each section includes a short Hebrew lesson (for the non-Hebrew
speaker), key concepts, an excellent overview of the portion, and some very
practical applications. Can be used as a daily devotional as well as a Bible
study tool for digging deeper in the Word. If you enjoyed Walk Genesis,
you'll love Walk Exodus!

Walk Leviticus!
A Messianic Jewish Devotional
Commentary
for Readers of the Torah, Haftarah, and B'rit Chadasha
by
Jeffrey Enoch Feinberg, PH.D.
|

 |
Why do
Jewish children begin their study of Bible in Leviticus? "Since children are
pure and the sacrifices are pure, let the pure come and occupy themselves
with things that are pure' (Leviticus R. vii.3). To "walk Leviticus," we must
find a balance between two worlds — the pure and the impure, the holy and the
common. Ours is a priestly calling, to be holy ones, just as G-d is holy!
